When I first entered this class I had no idea how to use Shutter Speed and Aperture, Photoshop and Portrait. I didn’t even know how to take a proper picture! I shall touch on all these topics later on. First off, I will start by trying to explain Shutter and Aperture. Shutter Speed determines the subject's movement and blurriness. Aperture on the other hand determines the pictures lighting. To help you understand the higher you make the Aperture the less light that is put into the picture giving the picture more life. The lower the Aperture the darker the photo gets and the less you’ll be able to see. Secondly, I’ve done many interesting projects in portrait mode which is what you’ll use if you're taking a school picture of someone. In one example I used my friend Courtney in a picture that was supposed to model their face and a small amount of the wall behind them. This was a fun experience because we took so many bad pictures! When we finally got a decent one we would be so happy run back and upload it and take more! Finally, me and my class did 9 photoshop assignments! We did a variety such as editing a car photo, making a picture of a school into some we loved! I chose to edit it into a Dropkick Murphy’s concert! My favorite one by far was Puns! It was entertaining being able to search for many amazing pictures and slam them together! I’m very grateful I got to take this class because it made me have more of an outlook on art and Nature as a whole and made me understand the joy of photography.

This week I was told by Mr. OD that I had to do a assignment that incorporated two pictures with many images to convey one word. I chose Sorrow and Majestic. Majestic means "showing beauty or poise" and Sorrow means "A feeling of sadness or being alone". Also I learned more about levels of photography and how to bled layers together. It's the LAST PHOTO ASSIGNMENT! This week I took pictures of different colors and how color either brightened the situation or darkened it. It made the scenery come alive. Also I highlighted a few colors that you'll see often throughout this post. Thank you for a wonderful trimester. Over the past two days, me and a few other students have been taking pictures of each other in the same type of scenery. We have used two other locations along with doing many funny and crazy poses This week I did the macro project were I would take close up pictures of many object such as my camera, guitar, Amp, and my family crest. This was a nice project because It was a nice experience to take many pictures of close up animate objects.
These were a few of the pictures during the Portrait assignment. The two students that modeled for me for this assignment were Daniel and Courtney. This was a interesting assignment because I did not know a lot about portrait photography and what were the needs in order to be successful until now
We were supposed to edit a picture in photoshop on different degrees of difficulty. They were from 1-3 and I did a level 3 project. This job was to edit a forest as best as we could
This week I took many photos of food including Eggs, Hot Dogs, Ribs, and Bacon! I took the photos of Hot Dogs and Ribs at a Michigan Tailgate this past weekend. Also, It was a good experience being able to play around with other lighting tools on my camera when I was trying to find the best lighting adjustment for the picture. This week was event week! I went to UofM to participate in the Dance Marathon event was where we would help kids with disabilities do many things such as pumpkin carving and eating doughnuts along with kareoke. Overall it was a great experence as a photographer and one I won't soon forget |
